Five dead in house fire in Russia’s Tula region

Five people have died in a house fire in the village of Gorbachevo, located in the Plavsky district of Russia’s Tula region, authorities confirmed.

The Investigative Committee for the region said that an investigator from the Plavsky Interdistrict Investigation Department has opened a criminal case following the discovery of the victims’ bodies, Caliber.Az reports. 

Preliminary reports indicate that the fire broke out on the morning of February 28, affecting an area of approximately 48 square metres. Emergency services from EMERCOM discovered the bodies while extinguishing the blaze. The identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the incident. The Tula region Prosecutor's Office is overseeing the procedural investigation to ensure all details are clarified.
