Five people killed in serious road accident in Russia"s Tuva region
Five people were killed in a traffic accident involving two vehicles in the Kyzyl district of Russia’s Tuva region.
According to the regional State Traffic Inspectorate, the incident was reported via Telegram after a head-on collision occurred at the 22nd kilometre of the Kyzyl–Erzin highway.
The emergency call was received by the duty unit of a separate traffic police patrol company of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tuva at 15:30 local time.
Preliminary information indicates that five people died as a result of the crash. One additional person sustained injuries.
The Tuva prosecutor’s office announced that an official inspection has been launched into the circumstances of the accident. Deputy Prosecutor of the Republic Vladimir Rodin and Kyzyl interdistrict prosecutor Natalia Grek were immediately dispatched to the scene to coordinate law enforcement actions.
