Five-story building collapses in Türkiye’s Istanbul city centre VIDEO

An abandoned five-story building has collapsed in the Beyoglu district in the European part of Türkiye’s Istanbul city.

The building partially collapsed on Kemeralti Street in the Karakoy seaside district in the city centre at around 6:30 (GMT+3), Lenta.Ru reports citing the Turkish DHA agency.

As a result of the incident, pieces of concrete fell onto the road. The street on which the building was located was blocked for traffic and pedestrians.

The facade of the building collapsed at 14:50 (GMT+3). The building was being repaired.  

Firefighters, police officers, employees of the Türkiye Disaster and Management Authority (AFAD) and representatives of the metropolitan municipality were sent to the scene.
