FM Lavrov: Russia not pushing itself as helper to US, Israel, or Iran
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Russia is not trying to impose itself as an assistant to the United States, Israel, or Iran.
He made the remarks in an interview with local outlet Russia Today (RT), per Caliber.Az.
Lavrov said that Moscow is not indifferent to how the situation in the Middle East will develop.
He stressed that the current escalation in relations between the United States and Iran is potentially explosive for the entire Middle East.
“We do care about how the situation develops,” he said, noting that it is “explosive” not only with regard to Iran but across the entire Middle East.
The minister said Russia is ready to offer its services in terms of contributing to the implementation of the agreement on the Iranian issue.
“In our contacts with them, we are simply discussing this situation,” he told the interviewer.
