FM: Putin, Trump to review outcomes of recent Russia-US talks
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has announced that the outcomes of the recent Russia-US talks in Riyadh are currently being communicated to Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
The discussions, which have garnered significant international attention, have concluded with preliminary agreements that are now under review by the two leaders, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
In an interview with Channel One Russia, Lavrov confirmed that the primary focus of the talks was on issues concerning safe navigation in the Black Sea, an area of strategic importance to both nations.
"As agreed upon by Putin and Trump, the talks primarily centered around ensuring the safe passage of vessels in the Black Sea," Lavrov states.
The Russia-US talks have recently taken place in Riyadh and continued for 12 hours. Press Secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said that both Moscow and Washington are currently analysing the outcomes of the meeting. He also noted that there are no plans for high-level talks at this stage or any discussion of a three-party meeting involving Ukraine. Following the Russia-US negotiations, separate consultations between the US and Ukraine were held.
