Foreign journalists visit Azerbaijan's Karabakh on Remembrance Day
On September 27, the Remembrance Day, foreign journalists visited the territories of Azerbaijan that were liberated from Armenian occupation.
Elshad Eyvazli, Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Parliamentary Journalists Union, confirmed this initiative, which aimed to draw global attention to the region's ongoing restoration, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The visiting journalists arrived at the invitation of the Union and with support from the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). Eyvazli emphasized that the purpose of their visit was to highlight the return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their homes and to shed light on the destruction inflicted by Armenians in the liberated areas.
The delegation included notable media representatives such as Zsolt Sütő-Nagy, editor of Hungary's largest newspaper and website, Magyar Hírlap; a journalist from the Bulgarian State News Agency, as well as the 24 chasa (24 Hours) newspaper, the Standard newspaper, the employee of the BTV channel Nahida Deniz, and member of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan, and editor-in-chief of “Yoshlar” TV channel Hamza Jumayev.
In addition to their visit to Karabakh, the journalists will participate in a series of meetings with local media colleagues in Baku. Their visit is scheduled to conclude on September 29, further promoting awareness of the region’s challenges and developments.
