Azerbaijan Land Forces convene for operational meeting in Khankandi

21 January 2025 16:27

An operational meeting of the Azerbaijan Land Forces was held under the leadership of Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the country’s Minister of Defence.

The meeting, held in Khankandi, was attended by deputy ministers, commanders of various branches of the military, chiefs of main departments, commanders of the Land Forces headquarters and army corps, the ministry told Caliber.Az.

The session started with a moment of silence to honor national leader Heydar Aliyev, along with the martyrs who gave their lives for Azerbaijan's independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.

Minister Hasanov outlined the tasks assigned to the Azerbaijan Army by President Ilham Aliyev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for the ongoing period. The operational situation on the Azerbaijani-Armenian conditional border was reviewed, and discussions were held regarding combat training measures for military units, as well as military discipline.

In his address, the Minister emphasized the importance of enhancing service-combat activities, increasing vigilance, and ensuring the effective and timely execution of assigned tasks. Special attention was given to the prioritization of supplies for units deployed in challenging terrains and high-altitude areas, alongside bolstering their moral and psychological readiness.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the high-quality implementation of all discussed measures to ensure the continued success and efficiency of Azerbaijan's military operations.
