Foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Spain meet in Turin PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Albarez on May 20 in Turin, Italy, as part of the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
During the talks, the ministers discussed the prospects for the development of political and economic relations between Spain and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The ministers stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Spain in many areas, including in the economic, energy, scientific, educational, cultural and other spheres.
Bayramov and Albarez also discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation within international organizations.
The officials shared views on the issues of Azerbaijan's partnership with the European Union.
Albarez noted that Spain supports the development of Azerbaijan's relations with the EU.
Bayramov informed his counterpart about the situation in the region after the Second Karabakh War, reconstruction and construction work carried out in the liberated territories, mine clearance and the return of internally displaced persons home in safe conditions, and the steps taken by Azerbaijan to build peace in the region.
