Former minister: Church urges to overthrow Armenian government
Armenian former Minister of Culture, poet Hakob Hakobyan (Hakob Movses) has said that something tragic is happening again in Armenia’s history.
“I see this call here. Unfortunately, I also see the position of the church that joins those who make this call. You see, the church itself is a religious organisation. What was the church doing for 30 years when Armenia was plundered? Movses told the Armenian media, commenting on the calls of the church for a change of power in Armenia, Caliber.Az reports.
“Instead of looking for sins, we look for sinners. We have lost three million people over 30 years of independence. You can call them immigrants, I say that three million people left Armenia, that is, they left their homeland,” the former minister noted.
“Unfortunately, our people immigrated. People immigrated not only due to the threat of physical destruction, but also spiritual, social and economic destruction. Why did not the church urge Armenia to observe order during this migration? Why didn’t the church intervene then? Why does it interfere now?” he added.
