France's new PM to present policy program in early October
France's newly appointed Prime Minister Michel Barnier announced his intention to present his political program to the National Assembly in early October.
Following his visit to Paris' Necours hospital, Barnier told reporters that the health sector will be a key priority for his new cabinet, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
“Don't ask me what I am going to announce when I make a general policy statement in early October,” Barnier stated, when pressed about plans to address hospital funding.
While emphasizing his commitment to improving the healthcare system, Barnier noted that rapid progress would be made but cautioned against expecting immediate miracles. He also indicated that the formation of his government is expected “in the coming days.”
Barnier's appointment follows a period of political uncertainty in France, as President Emmanuel Macron seeks to address a range of domestic and international challenges, including healthcare reforms and economic recovery.
