09 February 2026 17:12
Ten freight wagons carrying coal derailed on February 9 on the Datta–Kenada section of the Vysokogornaya–Vanino railway line in Russia’s Khabarovsk.
The incident occurred at 12:41 Moscow time, with eight of the derailed wagons overturning, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
According to the Far Eastern Railway, no casualties were reported in the accident. However, the derailment disrupted the clearance of a neighboring track, prompting a complete suspension of rail traffic on the affected section.
Railway authorities are working to assess the damage and restore normal operations. The cause of the derailment has not yet been disclosed.
