French farmers trample EU flag
French farmers have trampled the EU’s flag and condemned aid to Ukraine.
Farmers protesting against the EU’s decisions to help Ukraine to the detriment of farmers was held in Paris, France, Vesti.Ru reports.
The reason for another rally was the adoption of a programme to provide Ukraine with 50 billion euros ($54 billion). French farmers marched en masse near the Eiffel Tower and staged a rally on the Champ de Mars.
Organiser of the rally, leader of the French Patriot movement Florian Philippot, together with his comrades-in-arms, tore the EU’s flag.
“French President Emmanuel Macron will not solve anything about unfair import from Ukraine, especially poultry meat. The EU makes decisions. A decision was made to give a check to Ukraine worth 50 billion euros for four years. This is hypocrisy. President Macron renders more financial assistance to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy than to the French farmers. Macron chose Zelenskyy instead of French farmers,” Philippot said.
Farmers said that Brussels actually bought Ukraine through this assistance programme, but at the same time it completely ruined farms in European countries. Philippot warned that protests will continue.
