G7 urban ministers vow to help rebuilding Ukraine's infrastructure
The G7 ministers for sustainable urban development have reaffirmed the G7 course of cooperation for the reconstruction of Ukraine's infrastructure.
The confirmation was heard at the end of the ministers’ talks in Takamatsu, western Japan, on July 9, Caliber.Az reports, citing NHK.
The ministers said they will work together to help Ukraine restore its infrastructure and recognised the importance of utilizing each member state's knowledge and involvement from the planning stage.
To this end, the ministers have agreed to use the experience and knowledge of their countries, which will be used directly from the stage of drawing up plans for the restoration of infrastructure.
They also exchanged opinions on securing green spaces and decarbonising buildings to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from cities.
A joint statement is expected to be released after the meeting closes on July 9.
On May 20, G7 leaders, in a joint statement following the Hiroshima Summit, pointed to the urgent need to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
