Gas-air explosion at soda company in Bashkortostan injures 27 UPDATED
Medical teams have hospitalised 27 victims following an emergency incident at a factory in Sterlitamak, in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia, Deputy Health Minister Alexei Kuznetsov confirmed.
“According to preliminary information, 27 people injured in the factory accident have been admitted to hospital. Of these, 21 are in intensive care,” Kuznetsov said, Caliber.Az reports via TASS.
Telemedicine consultations with specialists from federal medical centres are being arranged to support the treatment efforts. Ambulance crews continue to operate at the accident site, while the Federal Centre for Disaster Medicine under the Russian Ministry of Health coordinates the medical response.

A gas-air mixture exploded at the Bashkir Soda Company, a chemical production facility in Sterlitamak, a city in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. The blast took place on Tekhnicheskaya Street, injuring 15 people.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia has deployed a total of 42 personnel and 15 pieces of equipment from the Bashkir territorial subsystem to manage the aftermath of the explosion. Officials confirmed that the situation remains under control, Caliber.Az cites.
Further details about the cause of the explosion and the condition of the injured are yet to be released.
