21 March 2026 13:40

Trade between Georgia and Russia reached $418.4 million in January–February 2026, marking a modest increase of 0.5% compared with the same period last year, according to data from the Georgian National Statistics Service (Sakstat).

Russia remains one of Georgia’s key trading partners, accounting for 13% of the country’s total foreign trade turnover during the first two months of the year, Caliber.Az reports.

Georgia’s exports to Russia in this period included 22,300 tonnes of mineral and fresh water, 7,200 tonnes of natural grape wine, 4,600 tonnes of spirits, 1,100 tonnes of fruit and nuts, and 2,200 tonnes of meat, fish, and crustacean products in granule or powder form.

Meanwhile, Russia continued to be Georgia’s largest supplier of grain and petroleum products. In January, Georgia imported 22,300 tonnes of wheat and meslin, 101,000 tonnes of oil and petroleum products, 125,500 tonnes of crude oil and petroleum products, and 6,900 tonnes of sulphurised hydrocarbon derivatives from Russia.

In 2025, total trade between the two countries reached $2.7 billion, a 6.3% increase from 2024. Georgian exports to Russia rose by 10.3%, while imports from Russia increased by 6.3%.
