Georgia to promote its role in European security, Middle Corridor in Munich

13 February 2026 19:00

Georgia will use the upcoming Munich Security Conference (MSC) to underline its role as an integral part of European security and to seek stronger recognition from international partners, Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili has said.

Speaking ahead of the high-level gathering, Botchorishvili stressed that the conference offers Tbilisi an important opportunity to engage directly with global leaders and policymakers on key security and connectivity issues. She noted that Georgia intends to clearly articulate its priorities and demonstrate its contributions to Europe’s broader security architecture, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media

“The Munich Security Conference (MSC) provides Georgia with a valuable platform to engage with our partners and, within the scope of our capabilities, to articulate our priorities,” Botchorishvili said.

According to the minister, Georgia sees itself as an integral component of European security and expects to be recognised accordingly. She emphasised that it is essential for the country to be regarded as a serious and reliable partner, highlighting what she described as Georgia’s respectful and constructive approach to strengthening both European and national security.

“It is vital that Georgia is recognised as a serious partner, demonstrating a respectful attitude that enhances the security of both Europe and Georgia," she added.

Botchorishvili also indicated that a key focus of Georgia’s participation will be the Middle Corridor — the strategic transit route connecting Europe and Asia via the South Caucasus and Central Asia. She underlined the importance of presenting Georgia’s role in enhancing regional connectivity and supply chain resilience.

“It is essential for us to present Georgia from this perspective, to discuss the importance of Georgia in the Middle Corridor, and more broadly, the role that the Middle Corridor plays in connecting Europe and Asia,” Botchorishvili said.
