Georgian army soldier found dead at checkpoint

The Military Police Department is investigating the death of a Georgia Defense Force soldier, Yusif Nasibov, who died in one of the military units, the Georgian Defense Ministry said.

During the investigation, it was established that the 18-year-old soldier was on round-the-clock duty and had a service weapon with him, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Georgian media.

His body was found near a checkpoint after hearing the sound of gunfire.

According to preliminary data, the wound, as a result of which the soldier died, was recorded in the chin area.

The Georgian Defense Ministry expressed its condolences to the victim's family and relatives.
