Georgian border guards detain Azerbaijani, Armenian nationals

Georgian border authorities have detained four foreign nationals attempting to enter the country illegally.
The incidents took place in the Sadakhli and Vakhtangisi border points, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Among those held were two Armenian citizens, born in 1979 and 1993, and two Azerbaijani citizens, born in 1989 and 2006.
All four individuals were reportedly trying to cross into Georgia without passing through official border checkpoints.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated.
Under Georgian law, illegal crossing of the state border carries a penalty of up to five years’ imprisonment.
