Georgian port refinery plans to phase out Russian oil imports
02 July 2026 14:21
The oil refinery located in Georgia’s port of Kulevi plans to completely stop importing oil from Russia starting in August–September, according to a statement by the plant’s owner, Black Sea Petroleum.
“Starting from August–September of this year, the company will begin refining crude oil of entirely non-Russian origin. This will open doors to high-margin markets for products manufactured by ‘Black Sea Petroleum’,” the statement said.
According to the company, the refinery processed more than 650,000 tonnes of oil during the first half of 2026.
