Georgian president engages in deep talks with world leaders

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has announced about in depth discussions with the US, French leaders, as well as entrepreneur Elon Musk.

“In depth discussion with Presidents Trump & Macron. Exposed the stolen election and extremely alarming repression against the people of Georgia. Underscored the need for a strong US. The Georgian people have a friend in Donald Trump. God bless the United States of America,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Zourabichvili’s messages on X.

President Zourabichvili met with US President-elect Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk at the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral, which was attended by leaders from around 50 countries.

“Excellent exchange with about the situation in Georgia. I look forward to welcoming him in our country,” she added. 

She also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris on December 7. Zourabichvili does not recognise the parliamentary elections held in Georgia on October 26 and considers the current government illegitimate. The Georgian president supports the ongoing protests against the ruling Georgian Dream party, for its decision to postpone EU accession negotiations, which have been taking place in the country since late November.
