Media: Georgian president’s first official visit to Azerbaijan aims to strengthen bilateral ties
Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, will embark on his first official visit to Azerbaijan on April 15-16, 2025, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
The visit will include high-level meetings aimed at fostering diplomatic and economic ties between Georgia and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
During his visit, President Kavelashvili will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to discuss a wide range of issues of mutual interest. In addition to one-on-one talks with President Aliyev, the Georgian leader is scheduled for extended meetings with other key Azerbaijani officials. These include Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov and the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), Sahiba Gafarova.
The Georgian delegation, led by President Kavelashvili, will also include Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, as well as Members of Parliament Givi Mikanadze, Zaur Dargali, and Savalan Mirzoev, who are expected to participate in discussions that will address various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including trade, energy, regional security, and political matters.
This visit is expected to further deepen the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, with both countries keen on enhancing cooperation in multiple areas.
