Georgian speaker accuses Former UK PM of disrupting Ukraine peace talks
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson undermined a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia in 2022 and is now freely attending conferences and public events, Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has stated.
He said two months after the start of this war, in April 2022, a peace agreement was initialled in Istanbul by the heads of the Ukrainian and Russian delegations, the terms of which were acceptable for Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“The Ukrainian delegation was led by David Arakhamia, chairman of the ruling faction in the Ukrainian parliament. He said that the terms of the agreement were acceptable for Ukraine. They returned to Kyiv, and the British prime minister arrived there and broke up that agreement,” Papuashvili added.
The Georgian parliament speaker further noted that Ukraine has been at war for four years since 2022, while Johnson today is calmly “walking around, attending conferences, and taking part in seminars.”
