Georgians lose streamlined access to Polish jobs under new rules
Starting December 1, 2025, Georgian citizens will no longer be eligible to work in Poland under the simplified employment procedure, a decree issued by the Polish Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy states.
Previously, Georgia was among five countries whose citizens could obtain employment in Poland based on a declaration of intent to employ a foreigner, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
This streamlined procedure allowed applicants to receive a voivodeship invitation for a visa and temporary residence permit and to engage in non-seasonal work for up to 24 consecutive months. Under the revised regulations, this privilege will now be reserved only for citizens of Armenia, Moldova, Belarus, and Ukraine.
Transitional provisions will apply for Georgian nationals already working under the existing system. Those who secured employment via the declaration before the new rules take effect will be allowed to continue until their current application expires. Any procedures initiated prior to the implementation of the new regulations will be completed according to the former rules.
The policy change is expected to affect thousands of Georgian families. Official data indicate that in 2024, Polish authorities issued 76,671 work permits to Georgian citizens. During the same year, 47,086 Georgians were employed across 6,560 organizations in Poland.
