Governor: Azerbaijan remains key partner for Astrakhan region
The Astrakhan region of Russia anticipates further growth in trade with Azerbaijan, driven by the development of transport infrastructure.
The region’s governor, Igor Babushkin, made the remark on his Telegram channel, following his meeting with Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Russia, Rahman Mustafayev, Caliber.Az reports.
“Azerbaijan is one of the key partners of the Astrakhan region. In the first half of this year, fish exports to the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 5%, and the volume of vegetable and flour product deliveries is growing. We consider further increasing trade volumes through the improvement of transport infrastructure to be a priority,” Babushkin wrote.
The governor also highlighted that cultural cooperation was a significant topic during the meeting. “We will continue to work on developing comprehensive cooperation with Azerbaijan and further implementing joint projects on a partnership and mutually beneficial basis,” he added.
