Healing hearts: Ninth group of Ukrainian children lands in Azerbaijan for recovery
A ninth group of Ukrainian children, many of whom are the offspring of missing or deceased Ukrainian servicemen, has arrived in Azerbaijan for rehabilitation.
The initiative, aimed at offering psychological and emotional recovery, underscores the strong humanitarian ties between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Gusev, shared the news on social media, noting that the children were warmly welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. They were greeted by staff members from the Ukrainian Embassy in Azerbaijan and Alibala Maharramzada, the head of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine Interparliamentary Working Group.
The children will undergo rehabilitation at the Guba sanatorium, where they will also have the opportunity to explore Azerbaijani culture. Among their planned activities are visits to various landmarks in Baku, including the Ukrainian Centre, which highlights the rich history of Ukraine’s connection to Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Gusev expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for its ongoing support, emphasizing the importance of this gesture in strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations. "This is not only a true manifestation of friendship but also an important contribution to reinforcing the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership," Gusev remarked.
This initiative marks the ninth group of Ukrainian children arriving in Azerbaijan for rehabilitation, demonstrating Azerbaijan’s continued commitment to offering assistance to Ukraine during a challenging time.
