Heavy snowfall causes mass flight delays at Moscow airports video

Mass flight delays were recorded in Moscow due to heavy snowfall and icy morning conditions.

According to the SHOT channel, a total of 156 flights were affected in the capital. Of these, 75 were delayed at Sheremetyevo Airport, 37 at Domodedovo (including five cancellations), 35 at Vnukovo, and nine at Zhukovsky Airport. A yellow weather hazard level has compounded the situation.

Earlier, city authorities and meteorologists warned of a prolonged deterioration in weather conditions. A yellow weather alert was declared in Moscow and the Moscow Region due to expected snowfall and icy conditions, the Russian Hydrometeorological Centre reported.
