Hezbollah sets out four conditions for disarming its fighters
Hezbollah has laid out four conditions for discussing the disarmament of its fighters, including demands for Israel to cease its military actions in Lebanon and the restoration of areas affected by Israeli aggression.
In a statement, Hassan Fadlallah, a member of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" parliamentary faction, outlined the group's position, Caliber.Az reports per Arab media.
He stated that discussions on disarmament would only commence if these conditions were met by Israel.
"Firstly, we demand an end to the attacks on Lebanon, which we have witnessed over the past few days," Fadlallah said. "Secondly, the occupation must cease, and Israeli forces should withdraw from Lebanese territory. Thirdly, we expect the release of all our prisoners captured by the enemy."
The fourth condition, according to Fadlallah, involves the reconstruction of towns and villages that have suffered material damage during the conflict.
"All homes destroyed or damaged during the aggression must be rebuilt," Fadlallah emphasised. "Once these conditions are fulfilled, we will be able to begin discussions on Lebanon's defensive doctrine."
This marks a significant moment in the ongoing tension between Hezbollah and Israel, with both sides continuing to navigate the complex geopolitical landscape in the region.
