28 January 2026 09:09
Five people, including three children, were killed in a house fire in Russia’s far-eastern Sakha Republic, also known as Yakutia.
The fire broke out in a private home in the village of Nyurbachan in the Nyurbinsky district, the regional office of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry said on January 28 in a statement on Telegram.
Fire crews arrived quickly at the scene, but the building was already engulfed in flames, leaving no chance to save those inside, the ministry said.
Investigators believe the blaze was caused by a short circuit in the electrical wiring, according to preliminary findings.
