Houthis launch ballistic missile attack on Israel
At 7:42 am on May 27, the Israeli Air Force intercepted another missile launched from Yemen by Houthi group.
No alert was activated because the missile was shot down outside Israeli airspace and posed no immediate threat to Israeli civilians, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Israel Defence Forces.
The report says that between 5:03 and 5:04 am on May 27, just minutes after an advance warning, sirens sounded in Samaria and the Jordan Valley.
Alarms were heard in settlements east of Ariel. At 5:17 am, the IDF announced the interception of a missile launched from Yemen.
On May 23, the Houthis claimed a missile attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, marking their third strike within 24 hours.
Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said a hypersonic ballistic missile targeted the airport, forcing sheltering and halting operations.
Israel confirmed intercepting three missiles launched from Yemen since May 22, with no casualties or damage reported. The Houthis have increased attacks in response to Israel’s ongoing Gaza conflict.
Notably, on May 6, US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire deal with the Houthis brokered by Oman, which Israeli officials found unexpected.
