Hraparak: People live in unsafe, unreliable Armenia

The recent explosion at the Surmalu shopping mall in Armenia’s Yerevan city once again proved that people live in unsafe and unreliable Armenia.

“The residents who think they are safe if they don't live in border areas were greatly concerned following the explosion,” Caliber.Az reports referring to Yerevan’s Hraparak newspaper.

According to Hraparak, the true causes of the explosion at the shopping mall in Yerevan are unlikely to be disclosed and four versions of the incident, which are voiced in the Armenian society, are put forward.

According to the first version, the incident is the result of technical negligence. Proceeding from this hypothesis, as a result of inspections conducted on March 9-16, 2021, more than 10 cases of violation of fire safety rules were observed by fire and technical safety experts.

Hraparak emphasised that some people blame the Russian authorities and President Putin for the incident. As evidence, these people write that allegedly one Russian website wrote about the explosion before the incident and posted photos.

“Is the Russian Federal Security Service so stupid and impatient to report about a terrorist attack that it organised before it was committed?” the message said.

Yerevan’s newspaper reports that the third version is that it was a terrorist attack aimed at "distracting public attention from the surrender of Armenia and Karabakh".

The fourth version is that "the terrorist attack in Yerevan was committed by Armenia’s external enemies".

The newspaper reports that "there is no police, no judicial system in Armenia now" and this contributes to the fact that "the hypothesis of a terrorist attack organised by Armenia’s external enemies is viable".

According to Hraparak, people put forward different versions of the incident, because they do not trust the Armenian state institutions and are not sure that the truth about the incident will be made public and the perpetrators will be punished.
