Hungary blocks EU anti-Azerbaijani statement on Garabagh
Hungary has blocked the general statement of the European Union (EU) on the situation in Garabagh, Trend reports citing European diplomatic sources.
The anti-Azerbaijani biased statement of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell on Azerbaijan's anti-terrorist measures in Garabagh was initially supposed to be a joint statement of all 27 EU countries, but Hungary vetoed it.
It should be noted that in order to ensure the provisions of the Trilateral Statement, suppression of large-scale provocations in the Garabagh economic region, disarmament and withdrawal of Armenian armed forces formations from the territories of Azerbaijan, neutralisation of their military infrastructure, ensuring the safety of civilians returning to the territories liberated from occupation, civil servants involved in construction and reconstruction works and Azerbaijani military personnel, as well as restoration of the constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani government has launched local anti-terrorism activities in Garabagh.
As part of the measures, the positions of the Armenian armed forces, their long-term firing points, as well as military means and military facilities, were incapacitated using high-precision weapons in the front line and in depth. Civilians and civilian infrastructure were not targets, only legitimate military targets were disabled.
