Hungary’s ex-PM calls for neutrality as Romania faces aftermath of drone strike
Former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has expressed condolences to those affected by a drone incident in Romania and called on Hungary’s new leadership to maintain the neutrality policy pursued by his previous government.
Writing on X, Orbán referred to the event as a “drone attack against neighbouring Romania,” without specifying the origin of the UAV.
We express our sympathy with those injured in the drone attack against neighbouring Romania. This incident reinforces the fact that the war poses a direct threat to neighbouring countries. We therefore call on the Hungarian government to maintain the policy of neutrality…

“This incident reinforces the fact that the war poses a direct threat to neighbouring countries. We therefore call on the Hungarian government to maintain the policy of neutrality established by the previous government and to refrain from taking any steps towards the pro-war policy advocated by parts of Europe,” the former prime minister said.
