IAEA: Strike near Bushehr plant kills guard, no radiation rise reported
A projectile strike near Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has raised fresh concerns over nuclear safety amid ongoing regional tensions, after authorities confirmed that one member of the site’s physical protection staff was killed by shrapnel.
According to Caliber.Az, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that no increase in radiation levels was detected.

IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi expressed “deep concern” over the incident, warning that nuclear power plant sites or nearby areas must never be attacked, noting that auxiliary buildings may house critical safety equipment.
He reiterated the need for maximum military restraint to avoid the risk of a nuclear accident and stressed the importance of adhering to the agency’s seven pillars for nuclear safety and security during conflict, the IAEA said in a statement on X.
