IDF chief of staff to conduct operational readiness assessment
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Eyal Zamir has called for a large-scale operational readiness assessment involving all military branches.
The meeting set for later on August 11 will bring together the heads of the Southern, Central, and Northern Commands, as well as commanders of the Air Force, Navy, and the Technology and Logistics Directorate, Caliber.Az reports via IDF statement.
According to the statement, this assessment aims to review detailed data and develop tailored strategies to address challenges across multiple fronts. A particular focus will be placed on the preparedness and status of reserve forces.
The current evaluation marks the second in a series of situation assessments designed to build a learning framework supporting a long-term, multi-year operational plan, even as active combat continues in various theaters.
Under Lt.-Gen. Zamir’s leadership, the process is managed by the General Staff Forum and includes an expanded group of commanders, such as divisional leaders, ground forces branch officers, and professional officers from various departments.
Key topics to be discussed during the assessment include the IDF’s readiness for multi-theater operations, force structure guidance, training programs, operational standards, and related issues.
