IDF says it is continuing operations in southern Lebanon to “clear” front-line Photo
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its troops are continuing operations in southern Lebanon to “clear” areas along what it describes as the front line of defence, targeting infrastructure linked to Hezbollah.
According to a statement from the IDF press office, the operations are aimed at preventing what it described as a direct threat to communities in northern Israel, Caliber.Az reports.
The military said that during an operation near the village of Al-Khayam, troops from the 769th Brigade, operating under the 91st Division, searched a building allegedly used by Hezbollah and found weapons, surveillance equipment, an RPG launcher, ammunition, and a flag associated with the group.
In the Beit Lif area, soldiers from the Nahal Brigade (146th Division) reportedly discovered RPGs, sniper rifles, and additional weapons inside buildings. In the Adshit al-Qusayr area, Golani Brigade troops found drones, ammunition, magazines, Kalashnikov rifles, and other military equipment. In the At-Tayyiba area, forces said they located rockets, RPG launchers, explosive devices, grenades, and ammunition.
“The weapons found were intended for terrorist attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians,” the statement said.
