Iran calls on IAEA to address US-Israel strikes ahead of nuclear inspections
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is set to carry out inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities, Iranian officials confirmed.
Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said that the inspections would include sites that were not targeted in recent hostilities, Tasnim reports.
Commenting on the conduct of technical negotiations alongside political talks, Eslami said Iran’s relations with the International Atomic Energy Agency remain in place, but the agency still has an unfulfilled duty regarding the military attack on facilities under safeguards.
He also stated that the IAEA cannot evade this responsibility, adding that if Iran is under IAEA supervision, holds the agency’s certification, and forms part of its credibility, the agency cannot remain silent about what occurred in June 2025, when the US and Israel attacked its peaceful nuclear facilities.
