Iran condemns German Chancellor Merz’s support for Israel’s military actions
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has sharply criticised German Chancellor Friedrich Merz for publicly expressing support for what it calls Israel’s military aggression against Iran.
The statement was issued by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei on social media platform X, Caliber.Az reports.
Chancellor #Friedrich_Merz persists in his support for Israeli regime's lawless behaviour & atrocity crimes at the cost of contravening the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and int'l law.

Baqaei accused Chancellor Merz of endorsing "lawless behaviour" and "atrocity crimes" by Israel, actions that he said violate the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. He emphasised that Merz, who holds a law degree, should be aware that any unprovoked armed attack constitutes a clear breach of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and is a blatant act of aggression.
“Endorsing an injustice is no less than complicity in it,” Baqaei wrote. He further warned that Germany’s continued political backing of Israel’s military actions against Iran implicates the German government in the resulting war crimes, assigning it international responsibility for acting as an accomplice.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry urged Germany to reconsider its stance and highlighted the legal and moral consequences of supporting what it describes as unlawful military aggression.
