Iran confirms Russian assistance across several military fields

Russia is providing Tehran with assistance in various military areas, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated.

In an interview with NBC, he was asked about media reports claiming that Iran had received Russian support in identifying US forces. Araghchi stressed that the two countries maintain a strategic partnership and that military cooperation between them is not new.

“Cooperation between Iran and Russia is not something new, it’s not a secret,” the minister noted. He did not specify whether Russian intelligence was assisting Iran in locating US military assets.

The minister added that he does not have precise military information but noted that Iran maintains excellent cooperation with Russia.

Responding to a question about intelligence sharing, Araghchi said that Russia helps Iran in many different directions,” without providing further details.
