Iran denies allegations of Israeli strike on Iranian facility in Syria
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani has stated that reports about an Israeli attack on an Iranian-linked site in Syria on September 9 are inaccurate.
Senior Iranian diplomat declared that claims of an attack on such a centre are completely baseless, Caliber.Az informs via foreign media.
Earlier, Syrian Ministry of Health reported that the Israeli strike had killed 18 people and left dozens injured.
Notably, on September 9, Israeli strikes hit several areas in central Syria, damaging a highway in Hama province and sparking fires.
Speaking to reporters, Syrian Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabbash described the strikes as a “brutal and barbaric aggression.”
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based war monitor, said 25 were killed, including at least five civilians, while the others included Syrian army soldiers and members of Hezbollah and other Iran-linked armed groups.
Minister of Electricity Mohammad al-Zamel said the strikes had caused “truly significant” damage to water and electricity infrastructure. “This brutal assault was aimed at civilian targets, with most of the casualties and the wounded being civilians,” he added.
