Iran denies strikes on Kuwaiti facilities, blames Israel, US
Tehran has denied involvement in recent attacks on a power plant and desalination facility in Kuwait, attributing the incident instead to provocations by Israel and the United States, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said.
“The unlawful attack by the army of the Zionist regime [Israel] on water desalination facilities in Kuwait is proof of the baseness and wickedness of the Zionist occupiers,” the IRGC said. “We condemn this inhumane act and declare that US bases and military installations in the region, as well as military and security facilities of the Zionist regime in the occupied Palestinian territories, are targets of our powerful response.”
The IRGC further called on all Middle Eastern countries to remain vigilant against provocations by the US and Israel, warning that such actions are aimed at destabilizing the region.
Earlier reports suggested that the strike, initially attributed to Iran, caused damage to a power plant and a water desalination facility in Kuwait.
