Iran executes two men convicted of spying for Israel
Iran has executed two men accused of spying for Israel, including one alleged to have gathered intelligence near a key nuclear facility, according to Iranian state media.
The executions were carried out on May 2 after the individuals were convicted of intelligence cooperation with Israel and its foreign intelligence agency, Mossad, judicial authorities said, Reuters reports.
State-affiliated media said that Yaghoub Karimpour and Nasser Bakarzadeh were hanged following their convictions.
Karimpour was accused of transmitting sensitive information to a Mossad officer, while Bakarzadeh was alleged to have collected intelligence on government and religious figures as well as strategic locations, including areas near the Natanz nuclear site in Isfahan province.
