Iran, Hezbollah carry out first coordinated attack on Israel
Iran and the Lebanese paramilitary group Hezbollah carried out coordinated attacks on Israel for the first time since the start of the new conflict, Israeli military officials told CNN on March 4.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that one missile was launched from Iran, while six projectiles — including drones — were fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon.
The near-simultaneous attack triggered air raid sirens in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. CNN crews reported witnessing the interception of a missile over central Israel.
The joint operation indicates a high degree of coordination between Iran and its Lebanese ally, although the US and Israel have killed senior leaders from both sides during the first five days of the war.
Shortly afterwards, the IDF announced that Iran and Hezbollah had carried out a second coordinated strike.
Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, said that, as of now, there are no reports of casualties.
