Iran holds farewell ceremony for Maj Gen Babaeian PHOTO

A farewell ceremony for the Iranian Army's Major General Abolghasem Babaeian, who was killed as a result of strikes by Israel and the United States on March 7, has been held in the city of Shahr-e Rey, per Tasnim.

The event was attended by local residents as well as officials.

The bodies of Babaeian and his wife were transferred from the Imamzadeh Abdollah Shrine to the Hazrat Abdol Azim Hassani Shrine. After performing prayers and circumambulating the shrines, they were buried next to Hazrat Abdol Azim Hassani.

Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed the death of General Babaian, who served as the Special Inspector of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic.
