Iran in talks with Russia to continue Bushehr nuclear plant construction
Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali has stated that his country is maintaining contacts with Russia regarding the continued construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
He said the two sides remain in regular communication over the project, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“We are constantly in contact with each other and hope that conditions will be created in which Rosatom staff will be able to carry out their work,” the Iranian diplomat noted.
The Bushehr facility, located on Iran’s southern coast, is the country’s sole active nuclear power station.
Its first power unit was commissioned in 2011 with the involvement of Russia’s state nuclear corporation, Rosatom.
However, recently, the war between the United States and Israel prompted its evacuation.
