Iran, Pakistan hold talks on bilateral ties, regional security
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation to discuss bilateral relations, as well as key regional and international developments.
During the discussion, both ministers highlighted the strong cooperation between Iran and Pakistan across multiple sectors, including the economy, trade, and culture, Araghchi wrote on his Telegram channel.
The officials also exchanged views on regional events, particularly condemning the ongoing “crimes of the Israeli regime” in the occupied Palestinian territories and its “aggression” against Lebanon, Syria, and other Islamic countries.
Referring to the recent meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers regarding the situation in Somalia and Israel’s efforts to sow division among regional states, the ministers emphasized the importance of continued consultation and collaboration among Islamic nations to ensure regional stability and security.
Araghchi additionally briefed his Pakistani counterpart on recent developments within Iran, highlighting the violent transformation of peaceful civilian protests into actions linked to foreign interference. He reaffirmed the Iranian people’s resolve to defend their country’s independence, national sovereignty, and security.
