Iran's FM: No intention for war, but ready for any scenario
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Iran does not seek war, but is ready for it and even better prepared than during the 12-day war in June 2025.
He made the remarks during a meeting with ambassadors and heads of foreign missions in Tehran, the Foreign Ministry’s press service said on its Telegram channel, per Caliber.Az.
According to the ministry, Araghchi said that the initial stages of the ongoing protests were peaceful, but armed elements and terrorist groups later intervened, attempting to provoke violence.
Iran accused the U.S. and Israel of supporting these actions, emphasising that Iranian security forces are controlling the situation. The minister also noted that Iran is ready for negotiations while defending its independence.
“We do not seek war, but we are ready for it and even better prepared than during the previous twelve-day war. The best way to prevent war is to be prepared so that opponents do not make miscalculations. We are also ready for negotiations, but only fair and dignified ones—on equal terms, based on mutual respect and shared interests. We are talking about serious and real negotiations, not orders and dictates, which is the style of some countries,” Araghchi said.
