Iran’s missile strike on US base linked to self-defence, not Qatar – official statement
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has stated that the recent missile strikes on the US military base at Al Udeid in Qatar were conducted as a legitimate act of self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, responding directly to the US military action on June 22, which Iran claims violated its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Speaking via his official social media account on platform X, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei emphasized that the strike was not aimed at Qatar, Caliber.Az reports.

He underscored Iran’s commitment to maintaining strong and friendly relations with Qatar and upholding the principles of good neighbourliness with all countries in the region.
Baghaei asserted, “We are determined not to allow the aggressive actions and malicious policies of the US and the Zionist regime to sow discord between Iran and our brothers in the region.”
