Iran’s Pezeshkian thanks Russia, calls for stronger strategic ties

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Russia for its support during a meeting with Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev and stressed the need to accelerate strategic cooperation between the two countries.

“The President of Iran highly appreciated the support and expressions of sympathy from the government and people of Russia, and also noted the need to accelerate strategic cooperation,” Pezeshkian’s press service said in a statement.

Medvedev arrived in Tehran to attend a farewell ceremony for Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
