Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirms end of war with US

The Secretariat of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has confirmed the end of the war with the United States in a statement highlighting Pakistan and Qatar’s mediation.

The statement said that under the terms of the agreement, all military operations and hostilities on all fronts — including Lebanon — would cease immediately and permanently beginning Sunday night, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.

According to it, the naval blockade against Iran would be fully and immediately lifted.

The text of the statement added that Iran, acting under the guidance of its leadership and following months of intensive negotiations, had finalized the memorandum of understanding (MoU) after discussions in Islamabad between Iran and the United States on June 14.

The SNSC further noted that the agreement provides for an immediate and permanent end to military operations, while also lifting the naval blockade against Iran in full.

The memorandum is scheduled to be formally signed on June 19, with further negotiations on a final agreement to begin after the implementation of the other party’s commitments.
