Iran's top diplomat to visit France for bilateral talks
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is planning to visit France in the coming days for bilateral talks.
According to the Iranian press, Araghchi will travel to Paris this week at the invitation of his French counterpart, with discussions expected to focus on bilateral issues as well as regional developments.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that Araghchi will go to France following his participation in the annual meeting of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the Netherlands.
Baghaei stated that the visit will cover bilateral matters, including the case of Iranian citizen Mahdieh Esfandiari, as well as broader regional and international issues.
He emphasised Iran’s principled approach to international relations, which is based on mutual respect and the use of all diplomatic channels to convey the country’s positions, including on Israel’s ongoing strikes in Palestine and Lebanon, Iran’s nuclear dossier, and other major global concerns.
Bagaei added that the meetings in Paris will serve as an important platform for presenting Iran’s clear viewpoints and legitimate demands.
